Why TBMS? Other than making music, there is nothing more satisfying than learning to play so that one can make music. I am honored to be on the board of an institution that values music as much as I do and that reaches out to those who wouldn’t otherwise have an opportunity to learn.

Why is music important? For me, music is a reflection of the soul as well as a means for developing it. When we learn to listen, we hear ourselves and others in deeper and more constructive ways.

What is your background? As a transactional lawyer, I am on my third career, having begun professional life as a rock musician, then gravitating to arts management. I maintain a solo practice, working with creatives of all sorts, while spending three days a week as Associate General Counsel of Trinity Church Wall Street, where I work closely with the church’s music department. I am also on the board of Peridance Contemporary Dance Company in Manhattan.
