Why TBMS? After years of focusing on my career it was time to give my time and experience to something that benefits others in the community. TBMS is that place for me. It provides so much to all its students. It is a privilege to serve on this Board and participate in growing the school and its contributions to the community and all the lives its touches. The faculty and staff are inspirational and my involvement with this is a gift.
Why is music important? Music is a powerful art. Listen to “Danny Boy” and you are transported to Ireland, one song from The Sound of Music and I am smiling atop the hills. Music has the ability to change your mood or imagine yourself in other places. It is so impactful and always evolving. Music helps you learn, imagine, and enjoy all at once – at any age. Music just makes every day better.
What is your background? After many years in the marketing/advertising business, I have recently retired. My career included senior level roles at both advertising agencies and client side. I had the luck to handle clients like American Express, Verizon, and Weight Watchers, among others. Client side roles took me to Crestar Bank, Chevy Chase Bank, and JP Morgan Chase. Formerly I held Board roles at The Richmond Forum, Richmond Council for the Arts, and Great Camp Sagamore. Currently I spend my time taking piano lessons at TBMS, classes at NYU and Fordham, and traveling.
