Private Instrumental and Vocal Instruction

Private Lessons at Turtle Bay Music School are tailored to benefit each individual student and promote creativity and confidence.

Students involved in school or other orchestras, bands, chamber ensembles or choruses can strengthen their playing with structured, one-on-one instruction. Private lessons include:

Audition Preparation

Our teachers welcome the opportunity to coach students on material for auditions and recitals.

Performance Opportunities

Students have the opportunity to participate in our monthly Young People’s Recitals and at our Annual Perform-a-thon.

Music Theory Study

The study of music theory teaches students to recognize, understand and describe musical ideas presented in a piece. Understanding how music is structured can increase confidence by improving memorization skills and enabling creativity.

Private Theory

Work one-on-one with an instructor learning music concepts such as rhythm, melody, harmony, texture and form.

Our instructors can also provide guided practice in rhythmic memory, tonal memory, sight-reading, sight-singing (using solfege) and other areas to help with audition preparation.

Advanced Private Theory

Covers above topics as well as music composition and arranging.

Private instruction rates apply.
