- Music specialty. Each class will have a daily visit from one of TBMS’s 50 faculty and early childhood specialists. Specialist classes will range from movement, percussion, vocal development, world music, yoga, Dalcroze, and Orff Schulwerk. Children will exercise creativity, teamwork, logic, and social reasoning skills through their arts engagement.
- A supportive, creative environment. To support early math and pre-literacy skills such as sequencing, thematic vocabulary, and phonemic awareness, the curriculum will be supported through music and other sensory experiences. Using singing, rhythm-based play, movement, instrument exploration, and tactile strategies, children will be immersed in a multisensory classroom that will help them achieve the physical, social, and cognitive goals. In addition, music will be part of creating environments that support and encourage prosocial, cooperative, and empathetic behavior.
- The TBMS community. When a child joins our preschool, they join the wider TBMS family. As TBMS community members, preschool children and their families will have access to TBMS’s eclectic performances, events, and activities that showcase our professional faculty and teaching artists. As our students grow up in the musical preschool setting, many children will organically matriculate to study in TBMS’s group classes and private lessons, furthering their education and continuing to aid in their development.

Musical Mornings: A Prelude to Preschool, for ages 6 months to 4 years, is a 90-minute program that uses the joy of music to gently introduce your child to a preschool environment. We offer flexibility in the tuition packages as a way to ease your young one into a longer morning program.
There are also a variety of group classes for ages 18 months through 6 years, through which your child will explore instruments and learn music fundamentals in a supportive setting.
